Today’s Grammar Gripe

Using "ask" as a noun.  It’s pretentious and the word "request" works perfectly well.

  1. Especially since it often doesn\’t mean "request" but rather "requirement." Nothing like using a word that is MORE vague than the word it replaces.

  2. What if they are from Brooklyn and they are saying "I have an axe".
